About the Rockdale church
Rockdale church of Christ is small in number but large and mighty in the pursuit of salvation and eternal life with God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We are non-denominational and autonomous as the New Testament teaches. Our focus is to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost of this world. We are actively involved in teaching The Gospel to every one that has an interest in salvation and an eternity in heaven. We follow the Lord’s command that we not add to or take away from God’s Word (Rev. 22:18-19). We believe that God’s Word is sufficient to lead us to salvation and onward to heaven (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Bible classes are an important part of the work of the church. We conduct bible classes for all ages, from the youngest to the oldest, Sunday morning & Wednesday evening. The Bible classes are one way that helps the church to fulfill the mission of "equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ" (Eph 4:12, NAS). In all the classes the Bible is taught and no time is spent on politics, crafts, entertainment, or secular education.
We meet for worship every Sunday as seen in the New Testament (Acts 20:7). During our Sunday worship services we sing songs of praise to God (using no instrumental music), observe the Lord’s Supper, make a freewill contribution to support the work of the church, approach God in prayer, and hear a sermon preached from God’s Word.
We offer free audio CD’s of sermons preached to those that request them. A free Bible correspondence course as well as home bible studies is offered to those who would like to study the Bible with us. For those who may be physically impaired we offer an audio CD version of the New Testament.
We have Elders and Deacons as seen in the New Testament and support gospel preachers here and in other places as ability and opportunity exist. Preaching the Gospel is one of the significant responsibilities of being "the pillar and ground of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15).
We cordially invite you to visit any of our services and if you are interested in learning and doing the will of God, we can help. Feel free to visit, call or email us if you have any questions about what we teach, believe or practice.
